On the 27th June 2020, a band from Ramsbottom, RisingSons, hosted a live music event called ‘Glastinbury’. The event was planned to raise much needed funds for our club and also spread some joy and celebrate some great acts. The lineup consisted of Rob Swinney, Raggedy Rooster, Neil Rynn, Jonas Rynn, Silvermoon, Michael Johnson, Paul Jenkins, RisingSons and Secret Lemonade Factory.

The Event kicked off a 5pm with Rob Swinney giving us a drum exhibition having only been playing drums for a few weeks, its safe to say we were blown away. High hopes for the future so keep your eyes out for him!

Following Rob we had the brilliant Raggedy Rooster playing their original happy punk material, Neil Rynn with some great covers and some cracking original material, Jonas…..Jonas needs his own section….

Jonas with his own material which is just incredible and a belting Beatles cover. Than in itself is pretty awesome but when you factor in that he is only 8! 8 years old! What a bright future this one has.

Silvermoon brought us a psychedelic delight of sound and vision. Electronica, Alt rock, a pink Flamingo…he had it all! We also had local lad Mike Johnson with his sweet caress of a voice playing some absolute classic covers with an original or two chucked in the mix. Safe to say the virtual crowds loved him! Paul Jenkins gave us a powerful poetry experience with a special rendition of something written for Rammy United. Matt and Dan from RisingSons gave us a few classic covers to sing along to.

Headlining ‘Glasti’ were Secret Lemonade Factory. The crowd went wild and boy they did good with one of the virtual audience stating ‘Secret Lemonade Factory are the business!’. Effortless from start to finish and thoroughly enjoyable.

The event raised a staggering £705 towards helping getting our club off the ground and we are truly thankful. Without your support we wouldn’t have been able to succeed in our ambitions in supporting mental health for our players and community.

Special thanks to all the artists who played, you really did put on a show and spread some happiness in a bleak time. Everyone who supported us by watching, donating, sharing…without you there would be no show. Matt Rynn of RisingSons, a huge thank you from the club. You worked tirelessly organising the event and what a professional, fun and enjoyable event it was.
